Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in America and is an American photographer and journalist. For more than forty-five years, she's focused her efforts on the reporting of human suffering, primarily in natural disasters and wars. Curry was a reporter for wars from Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist and television anchor and news reporter who is most famous for her job as a reporter on the Today show, a news morning program aired on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was renowned for her work on reporting human rights issues in war-stricken countries and on natural disasters. Curry's father was a naval officer in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Curry met her mother when she was working with the father of her parents in Japan in the aftermath of World War II. As a result of her father's military service the family has moved around quite a bit. Curry completed her high school in Ashland Oregon. She earned a journalism diploma in 1978 from the University of Oregon in 1978. She was exposed to a variety of cultures and experiences in her early years is likely to have influenced the compassion that she has for global issues. They frequently moved around, and Curry was not confined to the same school for over two years traveling to various locations like San Diego Alameda Oregon and Virginia. Ashland in Oregon is the place where Curry graduated. She started a new career path that led to a lucrative career by working as an intern at broadcasting station KTVL Channel 10 Medford. It was her first time as a female news anchor at this station when she was just 22. In Portland, Oregon she was appointed anchor and reporter by KGW the NBC affiliate. Four years later she moved back to Los Angeles as a reporter for the KCBS-TV. During her six-year association with the station, she won two Emmy Awards.
